Welcome
"Who woulda thunk it?" asked Mayor Bloomberg as he unveiled the City's plan for The New York City Waterfalls on January 14th. The question gets at the heart of why this project is so exciting - not only is it bold, ambitious and potentially very beautiful, but it's also completely unexpected. Four man-made waterfalls rising from New York Harbor, each as high as the Statue of Liberty - probably not among the predictions of many New Yorkers for 2008. But the thought was thunk, and New York now finds itself on the verge of the most exciting public art project in recent memory.
